Mount Shamsan

Yemeni mp

Mount Shamsan, this magnificent and awe-inspiring colossus, stands crowned with grandeur and solemnity. One sleeps and awakens in its embrace, amid the city that thrives around it, filled with its warm and noble people. It is a stubborn mountain, forged from rock and iron, towering high enough to touch the clouds. Its proud peaks greet the sun in the blazing heat of day and the stars in its serene nights.

All those who believed they could conquer it fell into an abyss deeper than its own stature, only to be swept into the dustbin of history. Those who thought they could subdue it and ride its back forever fell resoundingly into disgrace, defeated without hope of recovery. Those who imagined they could trample it underfoot plunged into a bottomless void, leaving the mountain alone, standing tall, singing, “O mountain, no wind can shake you.”

Since its existence, this towering colossus has endured, resisting and refusing to perish. Every day it defies the sea. It tells the story of a people who never know despair, no matter how heavy the burden, no matter how oppressive their rulers, no matter the cruelty of those who govern them, or the weight of fate imposed upon them.

Invaders long believed they had subdued it forever, and tyrants thought they had written the end of history, crowning themselves masters of the ages. Yet the mountain rose in defiance, overturning them, turning the tables upon those who stood above it, exposing their delusion and revealing the depth of their falsehood.

Whatever the invaders and tyrants assumed, that history would end with them, history returns to script new epics. It writes its word upon them when time completes its cycle. It rises again, demonstrating the majesty and dignity of a great, victorious people.
